The 2017 LIFE Walk!

Hello everyone, and welcome to this month's blog post! Let's get started.

Gift of Life MOTTEP LIFE Walk

The Gift of Life MOTTEP LIFE Walk was on July 29th, and it was an amazing event! When I first got there around 8 AM, it was already sunny with a slight breeze, perfect weather! Everyone who was running was warming up, and all the volunteers were being assigned to their spots. I was assigned to the finish line, so I didn't have to do anything for a bit. After 5 minutes or so, they called out the 5k runners to the starting line, the sheriff fired a pistol into the air, and the runners were off!

While I was waiting for the runners to come back, I enjoyed the live entertainment. There were marching bands, dancers, and games for kids. People were smiling and laughing, and it was just a happy vibe in general. They had tons of amazing food, and it was a fabulous environment.

Eventually the runners came back, and it was my job to hand medals to people once they crossed the finish line. Sometimes people would come in groups of 15 and I'd have to hand medals rapid fire, but other times it would just be one guy and the other volunteers and I would clap for him! Overall, it was a great event celebrating the Gift of Life.
